RESOLUTION NO. 74
(Series of 2005)

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MAYOR TO GRANT EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE YEAR 2005 TO THE PERSONNEL OF OLONGAPO CITY GOVERNMENT SUBJECT TO THE LIMITATION PROVIDED UNDER BUDGET CIRCULAR NO. 2005-3


WHEREAS, Administrative Order No. 126 dated June 7, 2005 was issued authorizing the grant of Educational Assistance as a one-time financial aid to government personnel for the FY 2005 in recognition of their contributions in providing quality service despite the government’s austerity measures and to help their families up with the rising cost of education;

WHEREAS, with the recent opening of classes for the year 2005, parents of students had to face the enormous economic hardships due to the incessant increase of prices of basic commodities and necessities such as the sending of children to school;

WHEREAS, due to the high cost of education and with the increase of school tuition, educational supplies and the recent implementation of fare increase of transportation, parents can no longer cope up with the meager income that the family receives;

WHEREAS, with the granting of One Thousand Pesos (PhP1,000.00) educational assistance for government employees, this will serve as a big welcome relief for them to help augment the expenses on the schooling of their children;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Noel Y. Atienza, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to request, as it hereby requests the City Mayor to grant Educational Assistance for the year 2005 to the personnel of Olongapo City Government subject to the limitation provided under Budget Circular No. 2005-3.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that Budget Circular No. 2005-3 be attached to this Resolution.
