RESOLUTION NO. 09

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR
HONORABLE JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE JAMES L. GORDON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (JLGMH) WITH COLUMBAN COLLEGE, INC.


WHEREAS, the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH) is a tertiary training hospital owned and operated by the City Government of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, there are educational institutions in Olongapo City offering Nursing Education where the students enrolled therein are required by law to undergo Related-Learning Experience (duty hours) in the community as well as in the hospital setting;

WHEREAS, Columban college is one institution that offers B.S. Nursing Course to its students from Olongapo City and neighboring municipalities;

WHEREAS, there is a request from the Columban College for its affiliation to James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, so that the students enrolled in the B.S. Nursing Course can be admitted and allowed to undergo actual training in the said hospital;

WHEREAS, James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital agrees to the request of Columban College for its affiliation provided that the required training intended for the students of the Gordon College, which is owned and operated by the City, will not be jeopardized;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor, Hon. James Gordon, Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement for and in behalf of the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH) with Columban College, Inc.
