WHEREAS, hardware store owners and operators of hauling equipment request that their trucks be allowed to deliver their materials to customers as well as receive for their stocks from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for the reason that the 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. truck ban would significantly affect their sales as well as delay the projects of their customers;

WHEREAS, another suggestion that the truck ban should start after the Kalaklan Bridge to allow their deliveries to pass through the SBMA Kalaklan gate for the cargoes coming from the Zambales areas had also been considered;

WHEREAS, the aforesaid suggestions had been assessed to be worth implementing and such will necessitate the amendment of the Olongapo City Truck Ban Ordinance;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Aquilino Y. Cortez, Jr. with unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to enact the following Ordinance :


ORDINANCE NO. 30
(Series of 2008)

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1-b AND 1-c OF ORDINANCE NO. 22, SERIES OF 2008. OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE OLONGAPO CITY TRUCK BAN ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT :

Section 1 : Amendment

a. Section 1-b which states of the banned hours should read as :

“Banned hours will be from 7:00 a.m. -9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and as such vehicles will be allowed to pass from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.”

b. Section 1-c which states of the Banned Roads, Streets and Bridges should include:

Truck ban starts after the Kalaklan Bridge for vehicles coming from the North

Section 2 : Effectivity

This Ordinance shall take effect after its posting in three conspicuous areas within the City for three (3) weeks.
