ABSENT:

WHEREAS, the city endeavors that all barangays in the city actively participate to the Annual Search for the Most Child Friendly Barangay;

WHEREAS, an amount should be designated for the said search since it entails a budget requirement for the cash prizes and certificates of recognition to the winning barangay;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Elena C. Dabu, co-sponsored by Councilor Gina G. Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 41
(Series of 2008)

AN ORDINANCE EARMARKING ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS (PHP100,000.00) FOR THE ANNUAL SEARCH FOR THE MOST CHILD FRIENDLY BARANGAY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. The amount of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP100,000.00) shall be earmarked from the Unappropriated Balance of the General Fund for the Annual Search for the Most Child Friendly Barangay.

SECTION 2. The top three Most Child Friendly Barangay will be given cash prize and certificate of recognition and the breakdown as follows:

SECTION 3. The cash price of the winning barangays shall be used solely to fund projects directly for the development of children’s welfare in their respective barangays.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
