RESOLUTION NO. 167
(Series of 2008)

A RESOLUTION DECLARING EVERY OCTOBER OF THE YEAR AS OLONGAPO CITY COOPERATIVE MONTH

WHEREAS, Section 458, 3 (vii) of Republic Act 7160 also known as The Local Government Code of 1991 strongly supports the preference of cooperative to engage in business;

WHEREAS, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) was mandated by the Executive Order No. 95 as lead government agency in the promotion, development and regulation of cooperatives nationwide;

WHEREAS, in compliance with CDA Memorandum Circular No. 2007-08, Olongapo City Cooperative Council (CCDC) was organized September 18, 2008;

WHEREAS, one of the mandates of City Cooperative Development Council includes promotion and observance of cooperative awareness in the city at all times;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Elena C. Dabu with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to declare, as it hereby declares every October of the year as Olongapo City Cooperative Month.
