RESOLUTION NO.  38
(Series of 2013)

RESOLUTION EXTENDING SYMPATHIES AND CONDOLENCES
TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF THE LATE RODRIGO E. ALCANTARA,
FORMER BARANGAY CAPTAIN OF EAST TAPINAC
                                                                                       
WHEREAS,  the late Barangay Captain Rodrigo E. Alcantara passed on to be with his Creator on June 2, 2013 at the age of 79;

WHEREAS,  Kapitan Alcantara’s  five-year stint as barangay captain from 1997-2002 highlights his ardent devotion to serve his constituents. He was known to be an early-riser, working very early in the morning taking charge of Operation Linis, drainage cleaning and ensuring peace and order while the community was still asleep;

WHEREAS, he did not  only have the drive to pursue the programs and projects of the barangay, but he had  also the stamina to accomplish them, the soonest possible time. He was a former barangay councilman (kagawad) who chaired the Committee on Public Works before he won the barangay captain seat;

WHEREAS, he was known for his diligence and while there were storms and flooding, his leadership came out shining bright;

WHEREAS, he lived  a life of service and influenced his family to serve as well, whether as volunteers in the Balikatan Ladies of Olongapo Movement spearheaded by then Former Mayor, Honorable Katherine H. Gordon or as private citizens performing random acts of goodwill for the people of East Tapinac;

WHEREAS, the City joins the Alcantara Family in honoring  their beacon,  icon of strength,  and good provider as well as Barangay East Tapinac’s  forerunner who gave out his best for the community;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED , AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to extend, as it hereby extends sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of the late Rodrigo E. Alcantara, Former Barangay Captain of East Tapinac.

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the bereaved family of  Former Barangay Captain Rodrigo E. Alcantara for their information and record.
