RESOLUTION NO. 98
(Series of 2005)

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHIES AND CONDOLENCES TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF FORMER
BRGY. CAPT. EDGAR S. JOHNSON OF WEST TAPINAC, THIS CITY


WHEREAS, Mr. Edgar Sarmiento Johnson born on September 19, 1939 peacefully joined his creator on August 11, 2005 at the age of 65;

WHEREAS, his family recalls his sunny disposition and how he was adored for his cheerful, loving and caring ways as a responsible family man;

WHEREAS, his brothers in the Mason-Lincoln Lodge # 34 remember him for his distinctive jolly and well-mannered behavior;

WHEREAS, in his early years, he chose to work as a Jyro Instrumental Technician in an Oil Refining Company in Kuwait and Oman to support his family needs specially the education of his 4 children;

WHEREAS, he has been called for public service and successfully earned the respect and trust of his people where he was elected twice as a Barangay Councilor and hit the landslide vote as a Barangay Captain for two consecutive terms;

WHEREAS, in 1999, his health started to deteriorate as he suffered several strokes that kept him bedridden. He was unable to finish his term of office because of this condition;

WHEREAS, in his tenure as a public servant, he notably achieved a lot of accomplishments in his jurisdiction such as the installation of street lights, the concreting of drainages and streets and drew people closer to the services of the government;

WHEREAS, the people of Olongapo hereby recall his steadfast public service to his endeavors and recognize the contributions of the late Brgy. Captain Edgar Sarmiento Johnson which the City Government and its people are grateful of. The City joins his family in this moment of grief;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, express, as it hereby expresses Profound Sympathies and Condolences to the bereaved family of the late Barangay Captain Edgar Sarmiento Johnson.


Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the family of the late Barangay Captain Edgar Sarmiento Johnson for their information and record.
