RESOLUTION NO. 118
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION TERMINATING/CLOSING THE BIDDING PROCESS FOR THE P.U.D. PRIVATIZATION DUE TO THE ABSENCE OF INTERESTED BIDDERS AND TO CONSIDER OTHER VIABLE OPTIONS IN ORDER TO RELIEVE THE P.U.D. OF ITS FINANCIAL BURDEN TO COPE WITH THE GROWING POWER NEEDS OF THE CITY CONSTITUENTS

WHEREAS, due to the absence of interested bidders for the PUD privatization under the present terms of reference, the City deems that it is best to consider other viable options to achieve the objective of energizing and rendering the PUD more productive, prevent the further deterioration of its electric power distribution system and still develop its capacity to cope with the demands of the consuming public;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod hereby terminates/closes the bidding process for the PUD privatization to pave way for the study of other viable options that will provide greater benefits to the people of Olongapo;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to terminate/close, as it hereby terminates/closes the bidding process for the P.U.D. privatization due to the absence of interested bidders and to consider other viable options in order to relieve the P.U.D. of its financial burden to cope with the growing power needs of the city constituents
