A RESOLUTION INTERPOSING STRONG OBJECTION TO THE 9 PERCENT WATER TARIFF INCREASE GRANTED TO SUBICWATER INC. BY THE SUBIC BAY REGULATORY BOARD (SBWRB)

WHEREAS, the recent burden of water tariff increase being shouldered by our people has added to their economic miseries and woes;

WHEREAS, the Subicwater Inc. has imposed a 9% water tariff increase which was approved by the Subic Bay Water Regulatory Board on its consumers;

WHEREAS, water has become one of the necessities of the people which should be made accessible to them regardless of their status in life;

WHEREAS, for the past five years, the Subicwater has implemented series of water tariff increases which the people of Olongapo through the Sangguniang Panlungsod interposed their continuous objection on the same;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Noel Y. Atienza, with the majority decision of the Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to interpose, as it is hereby interposes strong objection to the 9 percent water tariff increase granted to Subicwater Inc by the Subic Bay Regulatory Board (SBWRB).

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the Subic Bay Water Regulatory Board, SBMA Chairman and Members of the Board and Subicwater, Inc.
