WHEREAS, the Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Ministries Philippines, Inc. (HHHHMPI) is a non – stock, non – profit organization duly organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, operating at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital and at No. 6 Harris St., East Bajac – Bajac, Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, HHHHMPI provides among others, the physical needs of indigent patients of James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, most especially within the pediatric department by offering medical assistance in the form of medicines, medical supplies and finances for work – ups and operations. In cases where families have traveled from a distance, assistance is also extended for clothing, food and fares as well as temporary shelter for sick children at the Children Recovery Unit following their treatment at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, until they are well enough to return to their own home environment or to the care of the DSWD as the need arises;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor John Carlos G. Delos Reyes with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE TAX DUE ON TRANSFER OF PARCELS OF LAND DONATED IN FAVOR OF HELPING HANDS, HEALING HEARTS MINISTRIES PHILIPPINES, INC. (HHHHMPI)

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. The request for exemption from payment of Transfer Tax of parcels of Land donated in favor of Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Ministries Philippines, Inc. (HHHHMPI) is hereby waived.


SECTION 2. The 1st Indorsement of the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. dated March 20, 2007 is hereby made as an integral part of this Ordinance.
