RESOLUTION NO. 173

A RESOLUTION EXTENDING SINCEREST APPRECIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES (DENR) FOR THE DENR RECOMMENDATION FOR PROCLAMATION OF THE HALFMOON BEACH ACCRETED LAND AND THE AREA COVERED BY THE FORESHORE LEASE APPLICATION (FLA) IN FAVOR OF THE CITY GOVERNMENTOF OLONGAPO

WHEREAS, Secretary Angelo T. Reyes of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) issued a Memorandum dated December 13, 2006 for the proclamation of the Halfmoon Beach accreted area in favor of the City Government of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, the said Memorandum from the Secretary of DENR can boost the marketing concept of local investors to promote the local community products thus may generate additional employment to Olongapeños;

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is positioning the Halfmoom Beach as one of the tourist destination areas as the Subic-Clark-Tarlac has opened to serve as a gateway for additional tourists influx that will help the local economy;

WHEREAS, the Olongapeños are seeking out for strategic and cheaper location to serve as venue for celebrating their special occasions or small gatherings with different purposes, likewise, a place where to unwind while enjoying the refreshing plunge in salt water;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes Perez with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to extend, as it hereby extends Sincerest Appreciation To The Department Of Environment And Natural Resources (DENR) For The DENR Recommendation For Proclamation Of The Halfmoon Beach Accreted Land And The Area Covered By The Foreshore Lease Application (FLA) In Favor Of The City Government Of Olongapo.

This resolution supersedes Resolution No. 153, Series of 2008.

Let a copy of this resolution be furnished to Hon. Angelo T. Reyes, DENR Secretary for his information and record.
