RESOLUTION NO. 149

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING TO CONSIDER CARMELITA B. YCO AS OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (DILG) – OLONGAPO IN LIEU OF A PERMANENT DILG CITY DIRECTOR

WHEREAS, DILG City Director Eliseo De Guzman is due to retire on November 7, 2009 with 39 years of excemplinary government service;

WHEREAS, as the next in line in the succession of command and invoking the next in line rule, the city government recommends Ms. Carmelita Yco, a resident of Olongapo and has served the DILG-Olongapo for 28 years, to be the Officer-in-Charge of DILG Olongapo while the selection and appointment of permanent DILG City Director is being processed;

WHEREAS, Ms. Yco with a Masters Degree in Public Management, has rose from the ranks and has received numerous citations and recommendations for her dedication and hard work;

WHEREAS, the city believes with her vast experience and ability, Ms. Yco can very well lead the DILG-Olongapo until the appointment of a permanent city director;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present.

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to request, as it hereby requests to consider Carmelita B. Yco as Officer-in-Charge of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Olongapo in lieu of a permanent DILG City Director.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be furnished Ms. Carmelita B. Yco, Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno, DILG, Regional Director Renato L. Brion, DILG and the Personnel Office of the City of Olongapo for their information and reference.
