RESOLUTION NO. 04

(Series of 2010)

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITIZEN’S CHARTER OF OLONGAPO CITY

WHEREAS, Congress passed Republic Act No. 9485 otherwise known as “Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007”;

WHEREAS, in response to this Act, the Olongapo City Council passed Resolution No. 23, Series of 2009, urging all offices in the City Government of Olongapo to implement the RA 9485;

WHEREAS, the Executive department through the City Mayor crafted the Olongapo City Citizen’s Charter which will serves not only as a guidebook but a social contract to be enforced with the help of the community;

WHEREAS, the Citizen’s Charter will serve as a cornerstone in enhancing productivity, transparency and accountability in local government and will empower our people as it describes the steps and procedures on how to avail of a specific government service and identifies the responsible government employee for such service;

WHEREAS, the City Council supports and adopt the said charter for a more efficient and steadfast delivery of public service;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to adopt as it hereby adopts the Citizen’s Charter of Olongapo City.
