A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ASSOCIATION OF PHILIPPINE-AMERICAN PHYSICIANS IN OHIO (APPO) FOR THEIR CONTINUOUS INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIAL SERVICES AND ROLE IN PROMOTING COMMUNITY HEALTH

WHEREAS, the Association of Philippine-American Physicians in Ohio (APPO)  conducted its Surgical and Medical Mission in the City of Olongapo for a period of four days from February 4 to 7, 2013 at the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital and the Olongapo City Rizal Triangle;

WHEREAS, the APPO Surgical and Medical Mission  provided assistance to the City of Olongapo by offering free surgical and medical services to hundreds of Olongapo City residents as well as to the people of the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Nueva Vizcaya and Baguio City;

WHEREAS,  the group of volunteer health care providers of the APPO rendered significant number of medical services with the following data; services conducted at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital for Minor Operations included excision of back mass, breast mass, cysts lipoma, tophaceous gout, mass on eyelids, skin tag, fibroma, parietal mass, toe mass and the incision and drainage of auricle with biopsy as well as removal of sutures.
                               
 Total Minor Operations:

February 4, 2013 - 34 patients
February 6, 2013 - 30 patients
February 7, 2013 - 28 patients

The Major Operations conducted included Hemorroidectomy, Open Cholecystectomy, Inguinal Herniorrhapy, Hydrocoelectomy, Thyroidectomy, Lobectomy, Cheiloplasty, TAHBSO, RSO, Oopherycystectomy, Blepharropasty, Ray Amputation, Z- Plasty, Excision of Mass, Ocheopexy, MRMD, Palatoplasty, BTL, AVF Creation, Herniorraphy with Mesh, Vaginal Hysterectomy, Parotidectomy, Total Paroditectomy, MRM, Lobectomy, Gland Resection, Suction, Dilation and Curettage, Sigmodidectomy, Baxers Cyst Excision, Fistulectomy, Excision of Lipoma and SIstrunk Procedure.

Total Major Operations:

February 4-7, 2013 - 99 patients

The 3-day Medical and Dental Mission held at the Rizal Triangle Multi Purpose Covered Court, Olongapo City, in coordination with the Olongapo City Health Department, yielded the following data:

February 4, 2013
Medical - 635 patients
Dental   -  107 patients

 February 6, 2013          
Medical - 633 patients
Dental   -    80 patients

February 7, 2013
Medical - 1,021 patients
Dental   -     175 patients
                       
WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo recognizes, affirms and commends the selfless voluntary services rendered by the officers and members of the Association of Philippine-American Physicians in Ohio in the performance of its medical services-oriented initiatives and is therefore considered as among the partners of  Olongapo City in the promotion and enhancement of wellness and public health of the community;

NOW, THEREFORE,  with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present:

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to commend as it hereby commends  the Association of Philippine-American Physicians in Ohio (APPO) for their continuous  invaluable contribution to social services and role in promoting community health.
