A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MAYOR ROLEN C. PAULINO TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT FIELD OFFICE III, REPRESENTED BY ITS REGIONAL DIRECTOR, ADELINA S. APOSTOL, AND THE DAY CARE CENTER SERVICE PARENT GROUPS REPRESENTED BY THEIR PRESIDENTS, WITH REGARD TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING PROGRAM FOR THE 54 DAY CARE CENTERS IN THE CITY

            WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo, in its commitment to adhere with the Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) Law, thus, actively supports the ECCD programs of the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD). The Supplemental Feeding Program of the national government is aligned towards the objectives of the ECCD Law;

            WHEREAS, the Supplemental Feeding Program, which is the provision of food in addition to the regular meals to day care children, is a shared responsibility undertaken by the Department of Social Welfare Field Office, the City Government and the Day Care Service Parent Group;

            WHEREAS, DSWD Field Office III Regional Director, Adelina S. Apostol, in her letter to the City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino dated January 8, 2014 informed that their office will start accepting Supplemental Feeding Program project proposals for the 4^th cycle on March 2014 with a request to conduct an early registration of the day care children ages three (3) to four (4) years old to be included in the Supplemental Feeding Master List;

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 27, Series of 2013 passed by the Olongapo City Council on April 24, 2013 pertaining to the Supplemental Feeding Program was signed by the then City Mayor James Gordon, Jr.;

WHEREAS, this Resolution shall supersede Resolution No. 27, Series of 2013;

            NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edna A. Elane and co-sponsored by City Councilor Elena C. Dabu, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

            RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office III, represented by its Regional Director, Adelina S. Apostol, and the Day Care Center Service Parent Groups represented by their presidents, with regard to the Supplemental Feeding Program for the 54 Day Care Centers in the City.
