RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HON. ROLEN C. PAULINO, CITY MAYOR, OLONGAPO CITY TO
NEGOTIATE, WITH ANY REPUTABLE INDIVIDUAL
OR
COMPANY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTIES OWNED BY
THE
CITY OF OLONGAPO SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH
EXISTING LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo as a body politic with
its own duly empowered to enjoy full autonomy in the exercise of their
proprietary functions and in the management of their economic enterprises
subject to the limitations provided in the Code and other applicable laws. (Article 67 Rule IX of Rules and Regulations
Implementing the Local Government Code of 1991);
WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is the lawful and
absolute owner of parcel of land located at East Tapinac, Olongapo City
consisting more or less of Forty Five Thousand Five Hundred One (45,501) square
meters more particularly described as follows:

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is
likewise the absolute and lawful owner of approximately Eight Hundred Forty One
(841) square meter located along Dela Cruz Drive wherein the Lutheran Church is
located also known as Lot 1731 (the Dela Cruz Drive Property), the One Thousand
Five Hundred (1,500) square meter Volunteer’s Park at Perimeter Road and the
riverside commercial strip adjacent to
Subic Bay Freeport Zone with approximate area of Six Hundred Thirty Three (633)
square meters;
WHEREAS, the plans and programs for the
development of the above-described properties have been an integral part of the
vision and mission of the current local administration under the theme of
“transparency and good governance”;
WHEREAS, it is envisioned to maintain
the historical value of the Marikit Park as part of the history of the City of
Olongapo and its structures and edifice shall not be destroyed nor modified;
WHEREAS, the development plans and programs to
the implemented on the aforecited sites is subject to the conditions that
public consultation must be held in order to secure favorable approval of the
constituents of the City of Olongapo;
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Noel Y. Atienza,
with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod
present,
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session
assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes Hon. Rolen C. Paulino, City
Mayor, Olongapo City to negotiate with any reputable individual or company for
the development of properties owned by the City of Olongapo subject to
compliance with existing laws, rules and regulations.
