RESOLUTION NO. 54
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE CONTRACT ENTERED
INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF OLONGAPO REPRESENTED
BY THE CITY MAYOR, JAMES GORDON, JR. AND RAP-RAP TRUCKING REPRESENTED BY ITS OWNER, MR. LUISITO RIVERA REGARDING THE COLLECTION AND GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN THE CITY TO
INCLUDE THE SERVICES OF FOUR (4) UNITS OF
DUMP TRUCKS AND ONE (1) UNIT OF BULLDOZER

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 132, Series of 2005, the City Mayor was authorized to enter into a lease agreement for the emergency lease of garbage trucks and bulldozer for a period of two (2) months;

WHEREAS, on the other hand, Resolution No. 42, Series of 2006, authorized the City Mayor to purchase seven (7) dump trucks and one (1) bulldozer for the Environmental Sanitation Management Office;
WHEREAS, despite of the acquisition of new equipments for the collection and disposal of garbage in the city, the Environmental Sanitation Management Officer could hardly cope up with its effort to collect the city’s garbage due to the increase of volume from 90 MT to 133 MT per day;
WHEREAS, all the old dump trucks, compactor trucks and bulldozer have already bogged down and rendered unserviceable to be used in the operation;

WHEREAS, in order to maintain the city’s cleanliness, there is a need to extend the contract for an additional four (4) units of 10-12 cu.m. capacity dump trucks and one (1) unit bulldozer to be able to conduct its operation with its daily collection and disposal efficiently;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Cynthia G. Cajudo with the majority decision of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to ratify, as it hereby ratifies the contract entered into by and between the City of Olongapo represented by the City Mayor, James Gordon, Jr. and Rap-Rap Trucking represented by its owner, Mr. Luisito Rivera regarding the collection and garbage disposal in the City to include the services of four (4) units of dump trucks and one (1) unit of bulldozer.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of the following documents be made as integral parts of this Resolution:

v Letter request from Mr. Dante Ramos dated Feb. 8, 2006;
v Letter request from the City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. dated Feb. 22, 2006 and;
v The MOA dated Nov. 10, 2005.
