RESOLUTION NO. 69
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE OLONGAPO CITY SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM AS ONE OF THE PRIORITY PROJECTS OF THE CITY



WHEREAS, the entry of Hanjin Heavy Industries’ Shipbuilding Project together with other major locators lined-up to invest in Subic Bay Freeport Zone brought with it a challenge and an opportunity to the community long known for its resilience, craftsmanship and diligence;

WHEREAS, the modern industries setting up in the area calls for an upgrade of local manpower Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) to cope up with the proficiency required to succeed in a global competition;

WHEREAS, the city government sees the need to arm its constituents with the required KSA for them to benefit from the employment opportunities that will come with the new investments in SBFZ;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to approve, as it hereby approves the Olongapo City Skills Training Program as one of the priority projects of the city;
