RESOLUTION NO. 214
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE BSP-GSP CITY BOY AND GIRL
OFFICIALS’ RESOLUTION NO. 006, SERIES OF 2006, ENTITLED,
“A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING DEPED TO CONDUCT ORATORICAL CONTEST TO COMMEMORATE AND PROMOTE OLONGAPO CITYS’ HISTORY”


WHEREAS, in line with the celebration of the scouting month, the James L. Gordon Council conducted a turn-over of Boy and Girl officials coming from the different schools in Olongapo City to gain the experience of performing the regular functions of City Officials as well as key positions in the City Government for one (1) day under the supervision of their counterparts;

WHEREAS, responding to the needs and concerns of the youth the boy and girl officials deemed it proper to pass resolutions that they think are relevant during their sessions held last November 13, 2006;

WHEREAS, recognizing the success, struggles and the evolution of the City that led to its prominence, it is important to inculcate in the minds of younger generations these knowledge and the history of the City. These can be achieved by way of school oratorical contests, poster making contests and other school activities which are effective means of increasing the awareness of the citizenry;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to endorse, as it hereby endorses the BSP-GSP City Boy and Girl Officials’ Resolution No. 006, Series of 2006 entitled “A Resolution Encouraging DepEd to Conduct Oratorical Contest to Commemorate and Promote Olongapo Citys’ History”
