RESOLUTION NO. 226

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO REPRESENTED BY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE 306TH COMMUNITY DEFENSE
CENTER, 3RD REGIONAL COMMUNITY DEFENSE GROUP, ARMY RESERVED COMMAND AS MANDATED BY RA 7077 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CITIZENS ARMED FORCES ACT REPRESENTED BY ITS COMMANDING OFFICER CAPT. ROBERTO B. SARMIENTO, (INF) PA

WHEREAS, the 306th Community Defense Center, 3rd Regional Community Defense Group, Army Reserve Command, is a unit of the Philippine Army whose mission is to develop, organize, train, equip, administer and provide highly competent and mobile reserve force as an integral component of the total army in defense of the state and to participate in socio-economic development effort and community service during peace time including disaster relief operation, environmental protection and other training as mandated under RA 7077 otherwise known as the Citizens Armed Forces Act;

WHEREAS, Olongapo City welcomes cooperation and collaboration with socio-civic organizations, non-government organizations and cooperatives, and the national Government Agencies to foster growth and ensure the delivery of basic services, particularly in the maintenance of peace and order;

WHEREAS, the 306th Community Defense Center signifies its intention to support and assist the city in the maintenance of peace and order particularly the areas surrounding the Gordon College and its premises, and offers its expertise and experience to train freshmen students willing to take-up NSTP, ROTC program;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor John Carlos G. delos Reyes, with the unanimous accord of the Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Government Of Olongapo Represented By Mayor James Gordon, Jr. To Enter Into A Memorandum Of Agreement With The 306th Community Defense Center, 3rd Regional Community Defense Group, Army Reserved Command As Mandated By RA 7077 Otherwise Known As The Citizens Armed Forces Act Represented By Its Commanding Officer Capt. Roberto B. Sarmiento, (INF) PA.
