A RESOLUTION EXTENDING HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OLONGAPO INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) CHORALE AND EXPRESSING UTMOST ELATION FOR THEIR WELL-DESERVED TRIUMPH IN THE 1st ASIAN CHOIR GAMES HELD IN JAKARTA, INDONESIA

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo, under the leadership of Honorable Mayor James Bong Gordon Jr., constantly pledges itself to supporting worthwhile activities that reflect the City’s culture and values;

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City National High School Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Curriculum established the richly-talented ICT Chorale with the hope of bringing pride to the City;

WHEREAS, the Asian Choir Games, conceptualized as taking the Olympic ideal into the arts, arose from the dream to peacefully unify all nations and its people through music;

WHEREAS, the 1st Asian Choir Games was scheduled on November 2 to 10, 2007 in Jakarta, Indonesia;

WHEREAS, the two-month old Olongapo ICT Chorale saw the opportunity, assiduously sought financial support with the help of their colleagues and families and registered in the Mixed Youth Choirs Category of the 1st Asian Choir Games;

WHEREAS, unfazed by fear and competition, the Olongapo ICT Chorale bagged the SILVER III AWARD in the Mixed Youth Choirs Category on November 3, 2007 under the impressive training and baton of Ms. Janice Javier-Llemos and Mr. Roland Fronda;

WHEREAS, the Philippine flag is hoisted once again for this achievement, for which their home City of Olongapo is truly proud of;


NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to extend as it hereby extends heartfelt congratulations to the Olongapo Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Chorale and expressing utmost elation for their well-deserved triumph in the 1st Asian Choir Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished to all interested Business Establishments and Industry and the Public Affairs Office for information dissemination.
