RESOLUTION NO. 108

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE OLONGAPO CITY HALL VERANDA AS A COMMERCIAL AREA AVAILABLE FOR LEASE

WHEREAS, Section 129 of Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991empowers each local government unit to exercise its power to create its own sources of revenue;

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo is in a constant drive to yield auxiliary income to enhance and augment various social service projects;

WHEREAS, the veranda/view deck located at the second floor of the City Hall consists of ample space which can be converted into an income-generating area during work hours, preferably from 7 in the morning until 6 in the evening;

WHEREAS, this resolution is in support of the intention of the Livelihood & Cooperative Development Office to embark on business development projects for the city;

WHEREAS, the Office of the City Assessor through City Appraisal Committee Resolution No. 5, Series of 2008 appraised the area with a floor lease rate of Five Hundred Pesos (PhP500.00) per square meter;

NOW, THEREFORE, on joint motion of Councilors Angelito W. Baloy and Elena C. Dabu, with the majority decision of the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to declare, as it hereby declares the Olongapo City Hall Veranda as a Commercial Area Available for Lease.

Let copies of the City Appraisal Committee Resolution No. 5, Series of 2008, Olongapo City Hall Veranda/View Deck Floor Plan, Letter of Proposal from the Livelihood and Cooperative Development Office and Letter of Recommendation from the City Engineer’s Office be made as integral parts of this Resolution.
