A RESOLUTION CONVEYING PROFOUND SYMPATHIES AND CONDOLENCES TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF FORMER BARANGAY CHAIRMAN, GOMERCINDO B. SUNDIAM, SR. OF STA. RITA, THIS CITY


WHEREAS, Former Barangay Chairman Gomercindo B. Sundiam, Sr. of Sta. Rita, this City passed away on August 4, 2008 at the robust age of 72;

WHEREAS, Kapitan Sundiam’s accomplishments as a public servant highlight his unblemished dedication to the community he served wholeheartedly first as a Purok Leader, Barangay Secretary during the time of former Captain Maximiano Endoso, an elected Barangay Councilman and finally as Barangay Chairman for 13 years;

WHEREAS, Kapitan Sundiam was instrumental for Barangay Sta. Rita to be recognized by the entire nation as the recipient of the “Hall of Fame Award” for the “Most Outstanding Lupon Tagapamayapa”, which attested of his dynamic leadership;

WHEREAS, he was also known to be a pilot, an initiator of fresh programs at the barangay level, no community in the City had thought of implementing. One of which was the establishment of the Barangay Public Safety Office (BPSO), which provides training and equipping of Barangay Tanods in their performance of their duties;

WHEREAS, it is also during his stint that the said barangay provided honoraria for their Purok Leaders, Daycare and Health workers, the first barangay in the City to do so;

WHEREAS, his eloquence and wisdom as well as his deep fortitude in advancing the cause of the City endeared him to his constituents and the City Officials;

WHEREAS, the City considers his demise a great loss and his unwavering support to the Administration up to his last breath will always be remembered;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to, convey, as it hereby conveys profound sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of Former Barangay Chairman, Gomercindo B. Sundiam, Sr. of Sta. Rita, this City.

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the bereaved family of Former Barangay Chairman, Gomercindo B. Sundiam, Sr. for their information and record.
