A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO AND MEAD JOHNSON PHILIPPINES, INCORPORATED AND KABISIG NG KALAHI REPRESENTED BY VICTORIA V. WIENEKE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FEEDING HOPE PROGRAM AT THE IRAM RESETTLEMENT AREA IN BARANGAY NEW CABALAN, OLONGAPO CITY


WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo has consistently played a major part in worthwhile affiliations for the benefit of the City specifically the underprivileged;

WHEREAS, the City is spearheading a supplemental feeding project entitled: “Feeding Hope Program” which shall accommodate sixty (60) malnourished children from the Iram Resettlement Area in Barangay New Cabalan commencing on August 11, 2008 until March 23, 2009;

WHEREAS, the project aims to improve the nutrition and health of underweight children from ages three (3) to six (6) years old and impart to them and their family the value of establishing and sustaining good health and proper nutrition;

WHEREAS, the opportunity to serve the nutritional needs of the said constituents shall be made possible primarily through the alliance of interests among the City Government of Olongapo, Mead Johnson Philippines, Incorporated and Kabisig ng Kalahi;

WHEREAS, the Mead Johnson Philippines, Incorporated and Kabisig ng Kalahi agree to supply two hundred thirty four kilos (234 kls.) of milk for the realization of the project;

WHEREAS, the project shall be a welcome relief to the beneficiaries especially in these very trying times;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by and between the City Government of Olongapo, Mead Johnson Philippines, Incorporated and Kabisig ng Kalahi represented by Victoria V. Wieneke for the implementation of the Feeding Hope Program at the Iram Resettlement Area in Barangay New Cabalan, Olongapo City.
