A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR, HONORABLE JAMES GORDON, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO WITH THE NATIONAL RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REPRESENTED BY ITS PRESIDENT, ATTY. MELCHOR D. MONSOD FOR THE REVIEW OF THE INITIAL ENVIRONMENTAL EXAMINATION REPORT (IEER) OF THE OLONGAPO CITY SANITARY LANDFILL

WHEREAS, Olongapo City intensifies its campaign regarding waste segregation through its CR3 (Composting, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) program with complementary projects such as the proposed construction of the City’s Sanitary Landfill, all for a cleaner and greener environment;

WHEREAS, the proposed construction entails the application of an Environmental Compliance Certificate, with the Initial Environmental Examination Report (IEER) as one of the pre-requisites;

WHEREAS, the City deems it indispensable that an authority be given to the City Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Resources Development Corporation, a government owned and controlled corporation duly assigned to establish a funding facility to support the requirements of local government units as they undergo the Engineering Initial Assessment review process pertaining to their sanitary landfills;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Aquilino Y. Cortez, Jr. with the unanimous accord of the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor, Honorable James Gordon, Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for and in behalf of the City Government of Olongapo with the National Resources Development Corporation represented by its President, Atty. Melchor D. Monsod for the review of the Initial Environmental Examination Report (IEER) of the Olongapo City Sanitary Landfill.
