A RESOLUTION DECLARING A STATE OF IMMINENT DANGER IN FOUR (4) AREAS IN OLONGAPO CITY, NAMELY, RIZAL EXTENSION, BARANGAY BARRETTO; DEL ROSARIO BRIDGE AND STA. RITA VILLAGE IN BARANGAY STA. RITA: UPPER NIEVES, BARANGAY MABAYUAN AND THE UNSTABLE WALL IN BARANGAY KALAKLAN AS ASSESSED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT COUNCIL

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC), through the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) recommended the Declaration of State of Imminent Danger in the said areas as soon as possible;

WHEREAS, the said areas have been severely affected by previous disasters thus resulting to their infrastructure becoming weak and eventually unsafe for the general public;

WHEREAS, an acknowledgement and declaration of the current status of the said areas will facilitate holistic and long-term responsive actions, such as the preparation and facilitation of relief and rehabilitation efforts for remedial measures, to protect the welfare and well being of the communities and our constituents situated in the said areas;

WHEREAS, the unexpended (30%) of the Quick Respond Fund of the 2014 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund is proposed to be the source of funds for the following rehabilitation projects as recommended by Engr. Eduardo M. Santos in his letter dated March 6, 2015:

1. Damaged Cross-Drain at Rizal Extension, Barangay Barretto;

2. Damaged Slope Protection at Del Rosario Bridge, Barangay Sta Rita;

3. Damaged Riprap Slope Protection at Sta. Rita Village, Barangay Sta. Rita;

4. Unstable Rock located in Upper Nieves, Barangay Mabayuan; and

5. Unstable Wall and Damaged Riprap in Barangay Kalaklan

NOW, THEREFORE, on  motion of City Councilor Emerito Linus D. Bacay co-sponsored by City Councilor Aquilino Y. Cortez, Jr., with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to declare, as it hereby declares a state of imminent danger in four (4) areas in Olongapo City, namely, Rizal Extension, Barangay Barretto; Del Rosario Bridge and Sta. Rita Village in Barangay Sta. Rita; Upper Nieves, Barangay Mabayuan and the Unstable Wall in Barangay Kalaklan as assessed and recommended by the Disaster Risk Reduction And Management Council.
