RESOLUTION NO. 54

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR ROLEN C. PAULINO TO ENTER INTO, EXECUTE, AND SIGN FOR THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE NATIONAL FOOD AUTHORITY (NFA), ON RICE CREDIT SALES I TIMES OF CALAMITIES, IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

            WHEREAS, the National Food Authority, a Government agency created pursuant to PD No. 4 as amended by PD No. 1170 and is charged among others, ensuring the nation’s adequate supply and distribution of grains;

            WHEREAS, the Local Government Unit of Olongapo City, vested with authority to discharge the functions and responsibilities of national agencies devolved to the LGU;

            WHEREAS, the LGU requested NFA to allow them to purchase rice on credit for its relief operation whenever a state of calamity is declared in order to provide immediate assistance to constituents;

            NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edna A. Elane, with unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

            RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize as it hereby authorizes  the Honorable City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino to enter into, execute and sign for the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Food Authority (NFA), on rice credit sales in times of calamities, in a manner consistent with law.
