RESOLUTION NO. 122
(Series of 2005)

A RESOLUTION EXTENDING SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCE TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF MRS. OFELIA R. BASA

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ofelia R. Basa joined the hands of our Mighty Lord last September 11, 2005;

WHEREAS, though a native of Cavite, Mrs. Ofelia Basa considered the City as her own as she has dedicated her fruitful life to her family and the Olongapo community ;

WHEREAS, her children proudly remembers her as a loving wife and partner to her husband. When her partner in life passed away in 1978, she fulfilled the roles of both mother and father and raised her five children with utmost courage and diligence ;

WHEREAS, her children complimented all her hardship and support with their accomplishments, crowned all her efforts with their love and called her as their “perfect mother”;

WHEREAS, she served as one of the directors of the Philippine National Red Cross and dedicated her life in cause-oriented activities such as active participation in relief operations, mass blood donation, red cross youth events, membership drives, and disaster preparedness programs, among others;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo and its people recognize the support and invaluable efforts of the late Mrs. Ofelia Reyes Basa. Her wholehearted, selfless and tireless service led to the amelioration of social conditions of marginalized fellowmen and beneficiaries of the Philippine National Red Cross and the people of Olongapo in general, for which the City is grateful for;

NOW, THEREFORE, on the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express, as it hereby expresses profound sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of Mrs. Ofelia Reyes Basa.

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the bereaved family of Mrs. Ofelia Reyes Basa for their information and record;
