RESOLUTION NO. 102

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO, REPRESENTED BY THE CITY MAYOR, HON. JAMES GORDON, JR, TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (DOH), REPRESENTED BY JUVENCIO F. ORDOÑA, M.D., DIRECTOR IV OF DOH-CENTER FOR HEALTH DEVELOPMENT III ; AND WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS ASSOCIATION, REPRESENTED BY MS. SOCORRO L. DARAPIZA, FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE “BOTIKA NG BARANGAY” (BnB) AT BARANGAYS BARRETTO, OLD CABALAN, STA. RITA AND GORDON HEIGHTS

WHEREAS, the DOH, in its Administrative Orders No. 23.3, series of 1996 and No. 70, series of 2002, regarding the establishment of the “Botika ng Barangay”, is focused on reforms to make accessible the low-priced generic over-the-counter drugs and two prescription drugs to the underprivileged in our communities through its BnB Project;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo, in its effort to achieve its mission-vision to efficiently deliver the basic services to its constituents, understands the advantages of the DOH “Botika ng Barangay” Project establishment in the city, to what is stated in the proposed Memorandum of Agreement;

WHEREAS, the specific terms and conditions stated in the Memorandum of Agreement for the implementation of the BnB must be strictly followed as part of the endorsement of this resolution;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Angelina B. Andrada, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Government of Olongapo, represented by the City Mayor, Hon. James Gordon, Jr, to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Health (DOH), represented by Juvencio F. Ordoña, M.D., Director IV of DOH-Center for Health Development III; and with the President of the Barangay Health Workers Association, represented by Ms. Socorro L. Darapiza, for the establishment of the “Botika ng Barangay” (BnB) at Barangays Barretto, Old Cabalan, Sta.Rita and Gordon Heights;

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that the signed copy of Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment of the “Botika ng Barangay” be made as an integral part of this resolution.

Let copies of this resolution be furnished the offices of Dr. Juvencio F. Ordoña, of the DOH, Ms. Socorro L. Darapiza of the Barangay Health Workers Association and the offices of the Barangay Captains of Barangays Barretto, Old Cabalan, Sta. Rita and Gordon Heights.
