RESOLUTION NO. 93
(Series of 2006)

A resolution conveying the eternal gratitude and Boundless appreciation of the City Government Of Olongapo for the generous AND immeasurable contribution of the organizers, sponsors, and Government officials and employees, resulting to the successful celebration of Summer Saya 2006.

WHEREAS, the Summer SAYA 2006, comprising the Sibit-Sibit Festival, Summer Mardigras and Grand Santa Cruzan, was recently concluded last April 28-30 and May 6, 2006 in Olongapo City;

WHEREAS, as part of the efforts to invigorate the local economy through tourism programs, the Summer SAYA 2006 showcased the heritage and culture of the city to a national and international audience, through exposure gained from print and broadcast media;

WHEREAS, enlisting the aid of various organizations and individuals, the Tourism Task Force, which is composed of community leaders in different, yet equally relevant and important fields of endeavor, spearheaded the coalition that made the Summer SAYA 2006 a truly memorable event, shaping the outcome of this three-day Summer Festival;

WHEREAS, widely hailed as a successful tourism magnet, the Summer SAYA 2006 became a catalyst for the coordinated efforts of various sectors of the community to help promote and establish Olongapo City as a major summer destination for the rest of the country;

WHEREAS, the Herculean task of organizing the Summer SAYA 2006 rested on various organizations from both the public and private sector, working together to achieve the common goals of the Olongapo community namely the Olongapo City Tourism Council, Olongapo Business Club, Subic Bay Resorts Association, Association of Fashion Designers and Make-up Artists, Barretto Beach Boulevard, Association of Barangay Captains, Sannguniaang Kabataan, the Olongapo City Tourism Office, the Olongapo City Government, Live and Loud Productions, the Local Media (SBC, BBS, STV-6, and NUJP), Association of Fashion Designers and Make-up Artists, and the National and Local Sponsors, along with many other organizations whose names appear in the list attached to this resolution;

WHEREAS, for all these efforts in support of Olongapo City’s tourism programs the above mentioned organizations are recognized as overwhelmingly responsible for the success of the recently concluded Summer Saya 2006;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes-Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to convey, as it is hereby conveys the Eternal Gratitude and Boundless Appreciation of the City Government of Olongapo for the Generous and Immeasurable Contribution of the Organizers, Sponsors, and Government Officials and Employees, Resulting to the Successful Celebration of Summer Saya 2006.
