RESOLUTION NO. 133
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE FOUNDATION FOR UPGRADING THE STANDARD OF EDUCATION, INC. (FUSE) TO DONATE CONSTEL TAPES
AND THEIR ACCOMPANYING TEACHERS SUPPORT MATERIALS AND
TO EXTEND TRAINING PROGRAMS TO THE CITY OF OLONGAPO


WHEREAS, Education is one of the priority programs of the City of Olongapo and is included in the ten point agenda of City Mayor James Gordon, Jr.;

WHEREAS, it is the City’s policy to enable access to quality and responsive education at all levels and to develop competitive youth;

WHEREAS, the Foundation for Upgrading the Standard of Education, Inc. (FUSE) is a non-profit, non-government organization, whose principal goal is to help strengthen through training programs, teaching effectiveness especially in Science, Mathematics and English;

WHEREAS, FUSE is engaged in the preparation and distribution of audio visual learning and teaching materials, teacher training, publication of academic papers and exchanges among educational leaders;

WHEREAS, CONSTEL stands for Continuing Studies Via Television. It is the latest multimedia approach to helping teachers become effective in teaching their respective subject areas, especially Science, Mathematics and English;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to request, as it hereby requests the Foundation for Upgrading the Standard of Education, Inc. (FUSE) to donate constel tapes and their accompanying teachers support materials and to extend training programs to the City of Olongapo.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that authority be given to the City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. to represent the City in requesting the donation from FUSE and to sign the appropriate Deed of Donation in case FUSE approves the said request;

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished to Olongapo City Department of Education through City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Ligaya Monato for their information and guidance.
