RESOLUTION NO. 216
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING PROFOUND GRIEF FOR THE DEMISE OF ZENAIDA “ZENING” C. BERNARDINO AND CONDOLING
WITH HER BEREAVED FAMILY


WHEREAS, Mrs. Zenaida Dela Cruz Bernardino, former member of Pre-qualification Bids and Awards Committee (PBAC) and consultant of the Public Utilities Department (PUD), joined her Creator on November 17, 2006, at the age of 74;

WHEREAS, Mrs. Bernardino’s stint in the said departments was replete of her readiness to do the smallest and the largest tasks alike with utmost willingness and cheerfulness;

WHEREAS, as one of the volunteers who took pains to protect and preserve the former U.S. Naval Base, Mrs. Bernardino’s name was not only engraved on the Volunteers’ Wall but her humble contribution was also etched on the hearts of the lives she touched;

WHEREAS, her talent, wit, character and experience earned her the trust and confidence of former SBMA Chairman and now Senator Richard J. Gordon that she was commissioned to manage the operations of the SBMA Hotel and Consultant of the SBMA Training Center;

WHEREAS, with a meritorious track record enriched by her robust experiences, she was eyed to be a member of the City’s Pre-Qualification, Bids and Awards Committee (PBAC), consultant of the Public Utilities Department and the Chairperson of the Balikatan Ladies of Olongapo Movement (BLOOM) Cooperative;

WHEREAS, as a mother of six, Ate Zening had nourished her family with unconditional love and filled their hearts with value-laden principles she exemplified in words and in deed. She was an ordinary mother who exhibited extraordinary grace;

WHEREAS, her children recall of her prevailing faith to the Almighty that even her ailing body did not stop her vigorous confidence in enriching her relationship with God and her family;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo joins the Bernardino Family in this moment of grief for having lost a partner and a friend;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express, as it hereby expresses profound grief for the demise of Zenaida “Zening” C. Bernardino and condoling with her bereaved family.

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the bereaved family of Zenaida “Zening” C. Bernardino for their information and record.
