RESOLUTION NO. 30
(Series of 2008)

A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING ALL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS (NGOs) TO ADOPT CITY PARKS

WHEREAS, all educational institutions of Olongapo City and Non-Governmental Organizations are being encouraged to make a pro-active stance to maintain environmental cleanliness;

WHEREAS, Marikit, Leo, Rizal Triangle and Volunteers City parks are considered as recreational places to the Olongapo constituency where children can play and adults can relax;

WHEREAS, it is essential that the Local Government Unit (LGU) should promote awareness in keeping its parks clean, safe and admirable. On the other hand, it is of utmost importance that the City Government will have a solid partner in the realization of this program;

WHEREAS, Olongapo City is seeking full cooperation of all the educational institutions and NGOs so that they can be its partners in the this endeavor by religiously maintaining cleanliness, replanting, or repainting our parks’ surroundings;

WHEREAS, with a strong commitment, the members of these institutions and organizations can maintain the healthy state of the parks’ vegetation and at the same time develop a sense of ownership. With that sense established, other institutions and NGOs will be enticed to join the program as well;

WHEREAS, aside from promoting environmental cleanliness, the City Government wants to inculcate that the Bayanihan culture is very much alive in the City of Olongapo most importantly in the hearts of all;

WHEREAS, through this program, the City Government also aims to develop the sense of responsibility of the city’s constituents, not just in their homes, but also in their community;

WHEREAS, the members of the educational institutions and NGOs involved can be role models themselves in helping to realize the fight for excellence in cleanliness and that will promote the City Tourism Industry which will be beneficial to the City and most favorably to its constituents;

WHEREAS, it is vital that the City Government will work alongside the participating institutions and NGOs in Olongapo for the fulfillment of the said program;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina G. Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to encourage, as it hereby encourages all educational institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations to adopt City Parks;

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all Secondary, Tertiary Schools and Non-Governmental Organizations in Olongapo City for their information and proper action.
