RESOLUTION NO. 86

A RESOLUTION CONVEYING DEEPEST SYMPATHIES AND CONDOLENCES TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF RETIRED FIRE CHIEF, ORLANDO S. ALCANTARA

WHEREAS, Retired Fire Chief, Orlando S. Alcantara passed away in the grace of the Lord on May 29, 2008 at the age of 77;

WHEREAS, F/Maj. Alcantara served as the Chief of the Olongapo City Fire Station for the last twenty-eight (28) years and left an encouraging memory in the lives of the Fire Department personnel, replete of his ardor and indefatigable sense of responsibility as its leader;

WHEREAS, it is during this fruitful stint of his that the Olongapo City Fire Station was adjudged as the Best Fire Station of the region and of the country,

WHEREAS, he did not only reap the fruits of his effectiveness as the steward and the leader of the said department, but lifted the stature of the City’s firefighting force, as one of the prime sectors in disaster preparedness and readiness;

WHEREAS, the City recognizes Alcantara’s marked difference and applauds his brave soul that is committed to be in the harm’s way to preserve the lives and properties of others. The way he considered his job a calling and how he instilled this principle to his men is indeed a rich lesson every Olongapeño should follow;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to convey, as it hereby conveys deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of Retired Fire Chief, Orlando S. Alcantara

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the bereaved family of Retired Fire Chief, Orlando S. Alcantara for their information and record.
