RESOLUTION NO. 39
(Series of 2010)

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR, HON. JAMES GORDON JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT(MOA) FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE GORDON COLLEGE WITH THE COLEGIO DE CASTILLEJOS REPRESENTED BY ITS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, HON. WILMA B. BILLMAN REGARDING THE CONSORTIUM ON THE OPENING OF GRADUATE PROGRAMS ON THE SAID COLLEGES.

WHEREAS, the City of Olongapo has consistently played a major part in worthwhile relationship for the benefit of the City and its populace;

WHEREAS, the Colegio De Castillejos having been authorized and mandated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to manage an educational institution has its primary aim to assist in the educational needs of the people in the nearby communities and in the employment of the graduates;

WHEREAS, Gordon College run and owned by the City Government of Olongapo, is an institution of higher and advanced learning engaged in technical-vocational, baccalaureate and graduate degree programs;

WHEREAS, the Gordon College is in need of service provider to offer Master of Arts in Education, Master in Business Management and Master in Public Management and recognizes the Gordon College in providing said graduate programs;

WHEREAS, cognizant of the benefits of the proposal, this august body considers it favorable to bestow authority to the Local Chief Executive to participate in such undertaking knowing that the Gordon College has the capability and commitment to enter into such a consortium;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edwin J. Piano, co-sponsored by City Councilors Rodel S. Cerezo and Jonathan G. Manalo, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor, Hon. James Gordon Jr. to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for and on behalf of the Gordon College with the Colegio De Castillejos represented by its Chairman of the Board, Hon. Wilma B. Billman regarding the consortium on the opening of Graduate Programs on the said Colleges.
