A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, EXECUTE AND SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE D.S.W.D. REGION III AND A CHILD’S TRUST IS OURS TO NURTURE (ACTION) IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH LAW

WHEREAS, the city affirms its role and constitutional mandate under Section 13 and 14 of Article II to recognize the role of youth and women in nation building and the need to promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being through government initiatives and partnerships with concerned entities;

WHEREAS, the non-government entity A Child’s Trust Is Ours to Nurture (ACTION) engaged in a three-year ‘Capacity Building Project for House Parents in Region III’ covering the years 2013 to 2015;

WHEREAS, the ‘Capacity Building Project for House Parents in Region III’ carries the three-fold goal of helping parents engage in viable livelihood projects, providing educational support to students from institutions and beneficiaries and providing support to residential institutions for children, with the target beneficiaries being  house parents and social workers in residential and temporary children’s homes in target areas;

WHEREAS, the city was chosen as a beneficiary-partner by ACTION for the ‘Capacity Building Project for House Parents in Region III’ given its outstanding record in child and women care and assistance and for having its own institutionalized centers, the Center for Youth, Center for Women, Social Development Center, Women and Children Protection Unit;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion  of City Councilor Elena C. Dabu, with the  unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present:

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes the City Mayor to enter, execute  and sign a Memorandum Of Agreement (MOA) with the D.S.W.D. Region III and A Child’s Trust Is Ours To  Nurture (ACTION) in a manner consistent with law.
