WHEREAS, Section 21 of the Local Government Code states that a Local Government Units, pursuant to an ordinance, can permanently or temporarily close or open any local road, alley, park, or square falling within its jurisdiction;

WHEREAS, the same code states that any city, municipality, or barangay may by a duly enacted ordinance temporary close and regulated the use of any local street, road thoroughfare or any other public place where shopping malls, Sunday, flea or night markets or shopping areas may be established and where goods, merchandise, foodstuffs, commodities or articles of commerce may be sold and dispensed to the general public;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 62
(Series of 2005)

AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARY CLOSING PERIMETER EXTENSION
(VOLUNTEERS PARK) FROM OCTOBER 1, 2005 TO JANUARY 5, 2006
AT 6:00 P.M. TO 3:00 P.M.

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. Perimeter Extension (Volunteers Park) is declared temporarily closed October 1, 2005 to January 15, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

SECTION 2. The above temporary closed road will be used for tourism attraction where food festival, music, entertainment and regional products will be showcased.

SECTION 3. The 2005 Olongapo City Fiesta committee will spearhead the tourism activities for the said dates and maintenance of public safety.

SECTION 4. The Traffic Management Board will recommend the necessary routing of vehicles during the said temporary closure.

SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
