WHEREAS, R.A. 7160, section 455(v), otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides “The City Mayor has the power to appoint all officials and employees whose salaries and wages are wholly or mainly paid out of city funds and whose appointments are not otherwise provided for in this Code, as well as those he may be authorized by law to appoint;”

WHEREAS, the position of Executive Assistant IV in the Office of the City Mayor is expedient in the effective rendering of service among the constituents of Olongapo City;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, co-sponsored by Councilor Gina Gulanes-Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED AS IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to enact the following Ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 66
(Series of 2005)

“ AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POSITION OF EXECUTIVE
ASSISTANT V SG-24 AND CREATING EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT IV SG-22
IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY MAYOR.”

BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT:

SECTION 1. The position of Executive Assistant V SG- 24 is hereby abolished to pave way for the creation of one (1) plantilla position of Executive Assistant IV SG-22, hereby deemed as necessary to meet the staffing needs of the City Mayor’s Office.

SECTION 2. The letter-request of the City Mayor, Hon. James Gordon Jr. regarding the said abolition and creation of position be made as integral part of this Ordinance.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
