RESOLUTION NO. 130
(Series of 2005)

A Resolution DECLARING AND RESERVING ALL ACCRETION
AREAS ALONG PAROLA TO BARRIO BARRETTO AS CITY PUBLIC
PARK AND PROMENADE


WHEREAS, under Philippine laws and jurisprudence all areas of the foreshore and their accretion belongs to the public domain and should be reserved and declared for public use and access;

WHEREAS, Olongapo City has a foreshore land with accretion that begins from the light house area known as Parola at Barangay Kalaklan, Halfmoon Beach and up to Barangay Barretto;
WHEREAS, said accretion was the result of the soil erosion from the nearby mountains and spoils of Mount Pinatubo. This extending the foreshore lands creating more lands for the public use;
WHEREAS, these accreted lands should be reserved for the benefit of the growing population of residents and tourists in the City of Olongapo;
NOW, THEREFORE on motion of Councilor Cynthia G. Cajudo, with the unanimous accord of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to declare and reserve, as it hereby declares and reserves all accretion areas along the foreshore land from Parola, Kalaklan to Halfmoon Beach and to Barangay Barretto as City Public Park and Promenade.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that technical descriptions pertaining to the said matter be made an integral part of this resolution.

RESOLVED FINALLY, AS IT IS HEREBY FINALLY RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be furnished the Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for information and appropriate action.
