RESOLUTION NO. 169
(Series of 2005)

A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO PLACE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND DECORS ON THEIR FAÇADE IN CELEBRATION OF THE YULETIDE SEASON 2005.

WHEREAS, Christmas is an annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, symbolized by love and gift giving all around the world by many Christian nations;

WHEREAS, colors, lights and merriment make up the glorious celebration of Christmas. People place decors and illuminate their places with various yuletide symbols that signify values in each and every home;

WHEREAS, this yuletide season, despite the current national political turmoil and economic instability, Filipino people long to intensely experience the spirit of Christmas;

WHEREAS, illuminating and decorating the major business areas will help in intensifying the joy of Christmas, as this will inspire the community and provide an atmosphere of sharing for this season;

WHEREAS, lights and colors attract people, enticing them to visit the business areas and spend. Consequently, this would help tourism and business communities;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes Perez with the unanimous accord of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to encourage, as hereby encourages the

Business Community to place Christmas Lights and Decors on their Façade in Celebration of the Yuletide Season 2005.

Let copies of this Resolution be given to all business establishments, the Business Division and Public Affairs Office for the information dissemination and implementation.
