RESOLUTION NO. 162
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. JOHNNY B. CHOA
AS MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF GORDON COLLEGE


WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9, Series of 1999, creating Gordon College formerly known as Olongapo City Colleges was passed, providing the said institution the mandate to provide total academic quality and excellent education for the people of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, this responsibility is carried out mainly by the school’s Board of Trustees, comprised by qualified persons with academic and technical expertise in formulating policies and decisions for the attainment of the institution’s mission and vision;

WHEREAS, Mr. Johnny B. Choa was nominated by no less than the City Mayor, Hon. James Gordon, Jr. for membership on the said board;

WHEREAS, Mr. Choa holds the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the East, Manila. His work experience includes more than thirty-four (34) years in Accounting and Management, to wit, as a Junior Auditor, eventually as Staff Auditor at Sysip, Gorres, Velayo & Company from December 1972 to October 1980, and as City Budget Officer from October 1980 up to the present;

NOW, THEREFORE, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to confirm, as it hereby confirms the appointment of Mr. Johnny B. Choa as Member of the Board of Trustees of Gordon College.
