RESOLUTION NO. 163
(Series of 2006)

A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE FULL SUPPORT OF ALL
BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE CELEBRATION OF
THE ULO NG APO FESTIVAL 2006


WHEREAS, the ULO NG APO Festival is scheduled on the 12th to 31st day of October where Olongapeños of all ages will go out of their houses and lead to major streets of the city to witness this annual festivity showing the Olongapo heritage;

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Government, with the city’s event organizers, has started planning a range of activities in the culmination of the ULO NG APO Festival 2006. Highlights of the events are the Mardigras, Electric Parade, OktoberFest, Beach Mardigras, Citywide Sale, Art Exhibit, Film/Documentary Fest, Halloween Street Party and many others;

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Government, through the Task Force Tourism, in its efforts to create events and marketing and promotions activities, ultimately helps the business community in all its determination to organize promotional events and fund raising activities;

WHEREAS, all local business establishments who shall benefit largely from these events are hereby invited to participate in the aforementioned activities such as the Citywide Sale on October 12 to 31, one of the most effective sales promotion approaches which shall provide marked down prices and discounts in most tourism related areas;

WHEREAS, business establishments are likewise encouraged to display banners, streamers, tarpaulins and other similar promotional and marketing materials in support of the festival;

WHEREAS, business establishments are encouraged to devise their own design and have their official outfit during the entire festival which shall bear the theme of the ULO NG APO festival;

WHEREAS, all local business establishments are expected to give their full support to the ULO NG APO Festival to make the entire festivity a remarkable one;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gina Gulanes Perez, with the unanimous accord of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to encourage, as it hereby encourages the full support of all business establishments in the celebration of the Ulo Ng Apo Festival 2006.

Let copies of this Resolution be given to all business establishments, the Business Permit Division and the Public Affairs Office for their information dissemination and implementation.
