RESOLUTION NO. 16
(Series of 2007)

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE GORDON COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES RESOLUTION NO. 15 ENTITLED “RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED SALARY SCHEME OF FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME PROFESSORS/INSTRUCTORS/LECTURERS UNDER THE CONTRACT OF SERVICE APPOINTMENT”

WHEREAS, ARTICLE II – BOARD OF TRUSTEES of Ordinance No. 36, Series of 2004, entitled, “An Ordinance Adopting The Revisions On The Legal Basis For The Creation and Operation Of The Olongapo City Colleges Now Named As Gordon College”, provides on Item 7, F. Powers and Duties, the responsibility “To appoint, upon the recommendation of the President of the College, deans, instructors, heads of departments, registrar, lecturers and other officials and employees of the College, to fix their compensation and salaries, hours of service and such other duties, conditions and incentives subject to the provisions of the revised compensation and classification system and other pertinent laws as it may deem proper, to grant them at its discretion, leave of absences under such regulations as it may promulgate any provisions of existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, to suspend and remove them for cause in accordance with the requirements of due process of law, to establish chairs in the College and to provide for the maintenance or endowment of such chairs as may be necessary;

WHEREAS, in the Board of Trustees (BOT) Resolution No. 15, Series of 2006, College President Professor Arlida M. Pame, proposed during the BOT meeting on August 3, 2006 a new salary scheme for instructors on Contract of Service appointment to facilitate professionalism in the College;

WHEREAS, the said salary scheme was formulated in consultation with Atty. Bernardine S. Gantan of the Legal Office, Ms. Leticia M. Doropan of the Human Resources and Management Office and Ms. Josephine P. Nieves of the Budget Office, that the rates are similar with those being received by regular instructors excluding the benefits;

WHEREAS, the said resolution further states that the salary scheme will be implemented starting January 2007;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Marey Beth D. Marzan, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, adopt, as it hereby adopts The Gordon College Board Of Trustees Resolution No. 15 Entitled “Resolution Approving The Proposed Salary Scheme Of Full-Time And Part-Time Professors/Instructors/Lecturers Under The Contract Of Service Appointment”.
