A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY (DTI) TO WAIVE THE SALES PROMOTION PERMIT FOR THE CITY-WIDE FIESTA SALE ON NOVEMBER 30, DECEMBER 1 AND 2 AS PART OF THE 2007 CITY FIESTA ACTIVITIES

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Fiesta Committee spearheads the creation and execution of activities in line with the celebration of the annual City Fiesta;

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Fiesta Committee, through its activities and events, hopes to be of aid to the City in funding various social projects;

WHEREAS, the Olongapo City Fiesta Committee likewise commits itself to helping business enterprises within the City achieve maximum revenues during the yuletide season by encouraging them to offer their products and services to the public on discounted rates and through other means of sales promotion;

WHEREAS, the Department of Trade and Indusrty (DTI) mandates all business enterprises to secure permission for sales promotion;

WHEREAS, the local office of the Department of Trade and Industry is the City’s steadfast partner in its constant effort of upgrading the socio-economic standing of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, exempting the City-wide Fiesta Sale and its participants from securing such permit shall greatly contribute to the activity’s accomplishment;

NOW, THEREFORE, upon the joint motion of Councilors Angelito W. Baloy and Elena C. Dabu, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to request, as it hereby requests the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to waive the Sales Promotion Permit for the City-wide Fiesta Sale on November 30, December 1 and 2 as part of the 2007 City Fiesta activities.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Department of Trade and Industry and the Olongapo City Business Permits Division for their information and guidance.
