A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING GRATITUDE TO MR. RICARDO ROLDAN AMITH FOR HIS ACTS OF GOODWILL AND KINDNESS THROUGH HIS DONATION OF RADIO COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT TO VARIOUS NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS OF OLONGAPO CITY

WHEREAS, radio equipment has proven to be an effective communication tool and has helped thousands in times of emergencies;

WHEREAS, while there are many who wish to volunteer their services in times of emergencies, the means to report a disaster and eventually put the responding rescuers/operatives in time to prevent further loss of lives and properties are sometimes affected by insufficient communication facility;

WHEREAS, a number of Ham Radio enthusiasts in the City are now connected to the rest of the world by means of the Echolink Internet Linking System but the insufficient number of two-way radio has undermined the full potential of this new technology;

WHEREAS, Mr. Ricardo Roldan Amith, former US Naval Base worker at Subic Bay, a United States Federal Communication Commission Volunteer Examiner, now a resident of Barcelona Drive, Leemore, California showed genuine and sincere concern to the welfare of the residents in the City of Olongapo;

WHEREAS, Mr. Ricardo Roldan Amith, assisted and supported the Boy Scouts of the Philippines James L. Gordon Council and the Ulo Ng Apo Amateur Radio Group (DX3UNA) by donating three (3) Mobile Kenwood VHF radios, two (2) Kenwood VHF portable walkie-talkies, a Rig-Blaster Internet Linking device, a Motorolla MITREK VHF repeater with antenna cable, a power converter and various Ham Radio Magazines and Manuals;


WHEREAS, the City Government of Olongapo is greatly honored for the support of Mr. Amith to the organizations who also works closely with Olongapo City;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Edwin J. Piano, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express as it hereby expresses gratitude to Mr. Ricardo Roldan Amith for his acts of goodwill and kindness through his donation of radio communication equipment to various non-governmental organizations of Olongapo City.
