A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MAYOR HONORABLE ROLEN C. PAULINO TO SIGN THE STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT AND ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF OLONGAPO AND THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY REPRESENTED BY ITS UNDERSECRETARY, ZENAIDA C. MAGLAYA, RELATIVE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PHILIPPINE BUSINESS REGISTRY (PBR)

  

WHEREAS, the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) project is an inter-agency project that aims to help streamline business registration procedures in the country. It is one of the government initiatives to improve the country’s competitiveness by reducing the cost of doing business and cutting down red tape;

WHEREAS,  the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) project  aims to provide a seamless environment for business registration across application systems of all agencies with business registration-related transactions through the development of a web based registry system that is connected to the existing systems and databases of concerned agencies and local government units;

WHEREAS, the City leadership deems that the Memorandum of Agreement to be entered into and the implementation of the PBR will help Olongapo improve its current state of doing business, which will redound to the greater benefit of the Olongapo constituents;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edna A. Elane co-sponsored by City Councilor Elena C. Dabu, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panglungsod in session assembled to authorize, as it hereby authorizes, the City Mayor Honorable Rolen C. Paulino to sign the Statement of Commitment and enter into a Memorandum of Agreement for and on behalf of the City  Government of Olongapo and the Department of Trade and Industry Represented by its Undersecretary, Zenaida C. Maglaya, relative to the implementation of the Philippine Business Registry (PBR);

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of the Statement of Commitment and Memorandum of Agreement between the Honorable City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino and the Department of Trade and Industry represented by its Undersecretary, Zenaida C. Maglaya be made as integral part of this resolution.
