A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING A SINCERE AND PROFOUND GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION TO AVIATION CONCEPT (WINGS OF CHANGE CHARITIES, INC) HEADED BY MS. LYN HABECK AND TO USNS JOHN ERICKSON, IN COORDINATION WITH MS. CLAUDIA THURSTON AND CAPTAIN ANTHONY G. BOURDOUIN, FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE IN THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE FACILITIES, FOR TRAININGS AND LIVELIHOOD INITIATIVES AND FOR ITEMS DONATED TO OLONGAPO CITY’S CENTER-BASED INSTITUTIONS NAMELY THE SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER (SDC), THE CENTER FOR YOUTH (CFY), AND THE CENTER FOR WOMEN (CFW) MANAGED BY THE CITY SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (CSWDO)

WHEREAS, the Center for Youth, Center for Women, and the Social Development Center are established for a more responsive implementation of the City’s Social Welfare Programs and Services;

WHEREAS, Administrative Order No. 16, Series of 2012 which revised Administrative Order No. 17, Series of 2008 provides that all agencies implementing Social Welfare Programs and Services be accredited to ensure that standards are complied as required by law;

WHEREAS, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) center-based facilities and their accreditation were hold in abeyance and was recommended to comply with the physical structures and facilities which includes repairs and renovations for accreditation;

WHEREAS, in the letters from the CSWDO to the City Mayor dated February 23, 2014 and February 24, 2014, the lists of activities, assistance and donated items were shown in detail;

WHEREAS, the act of kindness and generosity extended by the people of Aviation Concept (Wings of Change Charities, Inc.) and USNS John Erickson made a remarkable change in the environment and facilities of the center-based institutions of the City as well as a significant impact in the improvement of the delivery of basic social services;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Edna A. Elane and co-sponsored by City Councilor Elena C. Dabu, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to express as it hereby expresses a sincere and profound gratitude and appreciation to Aviation Concept (Wings of Change Charities, Inc) headed by Ms. Lyn Habeck and to USNS John Erickson, in coordination with Ms. Claudia Thurston and Captain Anthony G. Bourdouin, for their assistance in the improvement of the facilities, for trainings and livelihood initiatives and for items donated to Olongapo City’s center-based institutions namely the Social Development Center (SDC), the Center For Youth (CFY), and the Center For Women (CFW) managed by the City Social Welfare And Development Office.

RESOLVED FURTHER, AS IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be furnished the Aviation Concept (Wings of Change Charities, Inc), Ms. Lyn Habeck, USNS John Erickson, Ms. Claudia Thurston and Captain Anthony Bourdouin for their record.
