WHEREAS, ‘Le tour De Filipinas’ is the only Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) sanctioned cycling tournament in the Philippines and it is an annual road race that features international continental and local professional cyclists who compete for the title as well as  secure points in the UCI,

WHEREAS, the organizers of the said event chose the City of Olongapo as their venue for the finish line of the first stage of the race on April 21,2014 and the starting point on April 22, 2014 for their second stage;

WHEREAS, in this event, Olongapo City can be further promoted as a favorable site for cyclists not only in our country but  the whole world;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Emerito Linus D. Bacay, with the unanimous accord of the Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to enact the following Ordinance:

SECTION 1.  That Rizal Avenue from the  corner of St. Columban Street up to 19^th Street West Bajac- Bajac is declared temporarily closed  to traffic from 12:00 noon up to 1:30 PM on April 21, 2014, and also Rizal Avenue from W-23^rd  Street  up to E-21^st Street from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM is declared temporarily  closed to traffic on April 22, 2014.

SECTION 2. The above-mentioned temporary closure is in line with the event of ‘Le Tour De Filipinas’ 5^th Edition Race.

SECTION 3.  The outline of the re-routing plan of vehicles made by the Office of the Traffic Management and Public Safety shall be an integral part of the ordinance.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
