A RESOLUTION APPROVING
THE CONCEPTUAL DESIGN/PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED SCHOOL BUILDING AT THE EAST TAPINAC
OVAL TRACK, OLONGAPO CITY, THE PROPOSED SITE FOR THE CITY-RUN GORDON COLLEGE
WHEREAS, Gordon College, is a local government-funded college in
Olongapo City, founded on 24 February 1999 by virtue of City Ordinance No. 9,
Series of 1999 and is composed of four constituent colleges: College of Computer Studies, College of
Business and Accountancy, College of Education, and College of Nursing. Other academic units include the School of
Midwifery, Department of Vocational Technology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences,
Center for Research and Development, and institute of Graduate Studies;
WHEREAS, Gordon College is currently located at the Old Hospital Road, E-16th St., Olongapo City, part of the complex which is subject for future development;
WHEREAS, Gordon College needs additional space to be used for facilities such as but not limited to track field, open space, etc. needed to implement the curriculum standards of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) which the current site cannot accommodate;
WHEREAS, the site of East Tapinac Oval Track (ETOT) has the existing facilities needed by Gordon College, is currently underutilized;
WHEREAS,
ETOT is easily accessible to the public with a minimum of three (3) access
points namely from Rizal Avenue and Magsaysay Drive via E-9th St.,
E-13th St. and Fendler-Donor Streets;
WHEREAS,
it is deemed that the project, the
construction of a school building at the East Tapinac Oval Track,
the proposed site for
the Gordon College, is worthy of
project
implementation
and as such its plan/design be approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod to pave
way for the transfer of the college campus to the said site;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Benjamin G. Cajudo II, with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled to approve, as it hereby approves the Conceptual Design/Plan for the Proposed School Building at the East Tapinac Oval Track, Olongapo City, the proposed site for the city-run Gordon College
