A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE OLONGAPO CITY ATHLETES

 FOR WINNING IN THE 2014 PHILIPPINE NATIONAL GAMES

WHEREAS, the Philippine National Games, is an annual sports event in the country revived in 2011. The Philippine Sports Commission, the lead agency, in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine Olympics Committee (POC), and the National Sports Association (NSA) invites participation from various local government units of their best athletes;

WHEREAS, the Philippine National Games aims to assess what Filipino athletes are made of and possibly become the basis and venue for the selection for the Philippine Delegation.

WHEREAS, in the 2014 Philippine National Games held in Metro Manila on May 16 – 25, 2014, the City of Olongapo Delegates won in the following sports categories:   

BOWLING

Player:

Samuel L. Matias-Singles Event (Silver Medal)

                 -Doubles Event (Gold Medal)

BOXING

Coach: Arsenio Perez Jr.

NOW, THEREFORE,  with the unanimous accord of the Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present,

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled, to commend, as it hereby commends the Olongapo City Athletes for winning in the 2014 Philippine National Games.

Let copies of this resolution be furnished the Department of Education, Olongapo City and the City Sports Office.
